ANNOUNCING THE MM DEGREE IN MULTIPLE WOODWIND PERFORMANCE

The Wanda L. Bass School of Music at Oklahoma City University announces a new graduate degree for musicians interested in extensive training as woodwind doublers in pit orchestras and in gaining pedagogical experiences on several instruments. Generous scholarships available for outstanding musicians.

PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES

Performance opportunities include a six-show, 18-performance season by OCU's Oklahoma Opera and Music Theater Company. Additional opportunities include performances with the OCU Symphony Orchestra, OCU Wind Philharmonic, OCU Jazz Band, chamber ensembles, an active 21st-century music consortium, and an early music ensemble. Students may apply for financial support for music competitions through our Burton Foundation Student Travel Fund.

THE BASS SCHOOL OF MUSIC

The 212,000-square-foot Bass School is home to 143 Steinway pianos, three theaters, a recital hall, and dedicated music library. The Bass Music Center, completed in 2006, incorporates advances in sound isolation in its 60 practice rooms, 40 teaching studios, seven high-tech music labs, and six ensemble rehearsal rooms. We are an All-Steinway School and a fully accredited member of the National Association of Music Schools since 1944.

APPLY

Applicants will declare a major performance area, and be required to audition on three woodwind instruments. In collaboration with the woodwind faculty, those accepted will customize their applied study to best meet career goals.
